Our product is designed not just to meet your needs, but to elevate your overall health and vitality. Join us as we explore the science behind our Immunity Tea formulation and highlight how incorporating our Immunity Tea into your daily routine can lead to a healthier, happier you. First, let's discuss why we chose Elderberry and Hibiscus as the main 2 herbs in this blend.

  1.  Elderberry: One of the best things about elderberry is that it's packed with antioxidants. Antioxidants are molecules that fight free radicals in the body, helping to reduce the risk of chronic disease. All the antioxidants and nutrients such as vitamin C and quercetin in elderberries make them a great immune system booster.

  2. Hibiscus: Similarly to elderberry, hibiscus is a great immune system booster as it is packed with nutrients such as antioxidants, vitamin C, beta-carotene and anthocyanin. These nutrients are anti-inflammatory, helping fight against free radicals and contains antibacterial properties. Hibiscus is typically used for respiratory issues. It is an expectorant, meaning it ensures bacteria in the form of mucus and phlegm don’t accumulate. Fun fact, expectorants are chemical compounds used for cough medications!

The supportive herbs in this blend are horse tail, rose petal and cinnamon. These herbs and spices are chosen both for their medicinal purposes and their flavour profile matching the purpose of the blend.

  1. Horsetail: Packed with vitamin C this herb has antibacterial and antiseptic properties. In the form of tea it is used to treat colds, coughs and congestion.

  2. Rose Petal: Extremely high in vitamin C it boosts the immune system and helps the body absorb iron. Like elderberry and hibiscus, rose petals are also packed with antioxidants, helping fight off free radicals and promoting cellular health.

  3. Cinnamon: Although it adds a subtle flavour boost to the blend, cinnamon is also a very powerful antioxidant, helping reduce inflammation and fight off chronic disease. Cinnamon also has natural antimicrobial properties, which helps fight bacterial and fungal infections.

Now that you understand why each herb in the Immunity blend has been carefully chosen, let's talk about how to brew this tea.

Hot Tea

Amount: We recommend approximately 1 tablespoon for a single serving.

Steeping time: We suggest 8-10minutes. For any herbal tea, the longer you steep, the stronger the flavour and medicinal properties of the herbs. Feel free to steep this blend as long as you please.

In this blend, you predominantly taste the elderberry and hibiscus. Hibiscus is naturally a more bitter or tart flavour, the longer you steep it, the more you will taste it. If you are someone who prefers a sweeter flavour, this tea pairs perfectly with some honey to sweeten it.

Iced Tea

Amount: We recommend approximately 1 tablespoon for a single serving.

Steeping time: We suggest a minimum of 20 minutes. We also suggest steeping with honey.

After steeping, add in ice or keep cold in fridge and enjoy a refreshing cup of our Immunity Tea!
